Gerry is in the business of helping people understand how human and organizational factors impact the safety and efficiency of an organization. Gerry has a Masters Degree in Aerospace Science, System Safety through Embry Riddle Aeronautical University.  He also studied human factors with Dr. Sydney Dekker at Lund University in Sweden.  He began his career as a pilot and Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, working overseas in Africa. On returning to Canada he took a position as a flight instructor in a university program.  In 1994 he became an accident investigator with the Transportation Safety Board of Canada.  Later he moved into proactive safety promotion as a safety officer with Transport Canada. He started his own consulting firm in 2008 and has been serving the aviation industry with practical guidance and training since then.


Gerry's aviation experience crosses many areas including an Airline Pilot License, Glider Pilot, instructor, as well as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License. He is the co-author of  External link opens in new tab or window“Managing Risk: Best Practices for Pilots.”
